The Abandoned Hartford Woolen Mill - Newport, NH
The Abandoned Hartford Woolen Mill built-in 1930. The old mill is approximately 12,000 sq. ft. sitting on a 3.8-acre lot on the Sugar River. It was acquired by John C. Cone in 1949 until 1960. From this time on it began to fall into disrepair. In 1996, after the last owner died, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services began working with the town to clean-up the site. It has become a haven for local graffiti artists.
